Fellowship - University of Utah
The University of Utah Post-Graduate Internal Medicine APC Fellowship is a carefully designed, 12-month program including 8 months of clinical training in internal medicine and 4 months of rotations in echocardiogram, palliative care, general cardiology, heart failure, infectious disease, and critical care. The clinical curriculum involves a gradual increase in patient load and close mentorship from experienced advanced practice clinicians and physicians. The didactic curriculum is weaved into the clinical work and consists of weekly case-based discussions, high yield clinician and pharmacy led presentations, and online learning modules and testing that align with the Society of Internal Medicine core curriculum topics. We also provide our applicants the opportunity to present clinical cases at the Society of General Internal Medicine regional and national conferences. The aim of the fellowship is to help advanced practice clinicians develop evidence based, nuanced approaches to complicated patients, build their confidence in a challenging field, and assert themselves as knowledgeable providers who practice at the top of their license and become leaders in their field. In addition, the fellowship is committed to expanding diversity within the APC field, supporting and empowering providers of diverse backgrounds, and working to change the systemic and provider biases our patients face.
